So, last night at work Kool & the Gang was supposed to perform in concert. The casino had constructed a venue on the outside of the building, and so of course it started to rain. The concert was supposed to start at 8:30 but was postponed to 9:00, then 9:30, and then altogether canceled. I imagine there were quite a few pissed off people who, being denied the jungle boogie they had payed for, were making quite a rabble.
And so the casino's idea for a solution to their mounting customer nightmare was to:
*drumroll*
Give everyone that had paid for a ticket a free meal in the buffet.

The suits arrived on a very sleepy Friday night, where half the people working had already been sent home, out of breath and basically saying that 300 people were making their way to the buffet and all got to eat for free. At least on busy days like Mother's Day, people have to stop and pay and that kind of works to stem the tide. This however was a complete free-for-all, no holds barred, madness filled mob. I am unable to fully articulate the insanity that took place between 9:30PM and 11:00PM last night, so I will leave you with the immortal words of Peter Venkman...
